Discover Bull Run: A Historic Rural Community in Newton County
Published: May 19, 2005
Bull Run is a small rural community located about eight miles southwest of Newton in western Newton County near the Jasper County line. This area was settled by African Americans sometime after the Civil War. In the 1930s a church and school served area farmers. Though Bull Run was still shown on maps by the late twentieth century, no population estimates were available.
