Corral City is located at Interstate 35W and Farm Road 407 about ten miles southwest of Denton in southwestern Denton County. The community began in the early 1970s as a mobile home park and officially incorporated in 1973. In 1980 the population was eighty-five and, after a decline to forty-six in 1990, increased to eighty-nine in 2000. Corral City has a convenience store and liquor store. The community contracts with nearby Argyle for police, fire, and court services.
