Demi-John Island is a residential community located nine miles east of Lake Jackson and near the Brazoria National Wildlife Refuge in southeast Brazoria County. The development was probably so named because it is situated along the bend of Bastrop Bayou that is shaped like a jug or demijohn. Demi-John Island was shown on highway maps by the 1980s, but no population estimates were available until 2000, when the community reported eighteen residents.
