Elm Grove is a tiny rural community located off Farm Road 765 about twenty-six miles northwest of San Saba in the northwestern corner of San Saba County near the McCulloch and Brown county lines. This settlement probably began by the early 1900s. Highway maps in the 1930s showed Elm Grove Church, dwellings, and Post Oak School. The church and school were still shown in 1964, but by 2000 only the locale itself was identified on highway maps. Elm Grove had a population of fifteen.
