The Kay Bailey Hutchison Women in Texas History Award was established in 2024 by the Mary Jon and JP Bryan Foundation. The award recognizes women who have made a lasting impact on Texas history through preservation, education, scholarship, public service, and cultural leadership.
Named in honor of Kay Bailey Hutchison, former U.S. Ambassador and U.S. Senator, the award celebrates women who actively promote and preserve Texas history for future generations. Recipients receive a $2,500 prize, a specially designed Yellow Rose of Texas necklace, and a certificate of recognition. The honor is presented during the Women in Texas History Luncheon at the TSHA Annual Meeting.
