Mobile City: A Brief History and Overview
Published: April 27, 2005
Mobile City is a mobile home community located on Interstate Highway 30 about ten miles northeast of Dallas and less than a mile east of Rockwall in northwestern Rockwall County. The town began as an 8.8-acre trailer park and incorporated on January 25, 1990. Later that same year residents overwhelmingly voted to allow liquor sales, a measure that caused some controversy in Rockwall County. Billie Easley served as the first mayor. In 2000 Mobile City had a population of 196.
