Discover Pineview: A Hidden Farming Community in Wood County
Published: April 27, 2005
Pineview is a tiny farming community located near the intersection of Farm roads 1647 and 2455 about eight miles southeast of Winnsboro in the northeastern corner of Wood County. The settlement, probably named for the wooded landscape, may have begun in the early part of the twentieth century. County highway maps in 1936 showed farms in the area. Pineview Church and Pineview Cemetery served the rural community by the mid-1900s. In 2000 there were ten residents.
