Discover Redland: A Historic Community in Leon County
Published: July 28, 2005
Redland (sometimes spelled Red Land) is a small rural community located on State Highway 7 about four miles west of Centerville in central Leon County. This settlement probably began in the late 1800s, and by the early 1900s Redland School served local farming families. The school may have closed by the 1930s, when highway maps depicted only a church and one business in the community. In 2000 the population was thirty-five.
