The community of Silver Creek Village is located in two sections off Farm Road 2341 along the eastern shore of Lake Buchanan, approximately twelve miles northwest of Burnet in northwestern Burnet County. The lakeside development began in the spring of 1959 and appeared on tourist maps in the 1960s. By the early 1970s area residents had organized a Baptist church. The population in 2000, the first year in which census figures were available, was 250. Silver Creek Resort is a popular tourist destination.
